Having grown up in the Wood (which we never called it) it reminded me of first loves and innocence. I found myself more interested in the whereabouts of my once close friends rather than being truly involved in the story being told. Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt and the hat. Not to diss what paid someone’s bills, but The Wood was just a film. My memories are priceless, but the total running time of the flick is time i’ll get never back. I’m not quite sure it was worth that.

This movie is a nice movie. It not really the best movie or the worse movie. It mainly about a threesome of friends. One is about to get hitched and they remishing on the good old days. When they were young and restless. Talks about schooldances, frist crush, and frist time getting laid.

This movie was about nostalgia — remembering what it was like to be young and black in the 80s. My favorite cousins lived in Inglewood when we were kids so I vividly remember listening to that music and doing all the growing up stuff in Inglewood. (The Randy’s donut is an Inglewood landmark — that brought a smile to my face).
My feelings about this movie are mixed: It doesn’t disappoint in evoking strong nostalgic feelings, however the overall plot was weak and the flashbacks made the movie seem disjointed.
It was worth watching once, but I wouldn’t watch it again.

taye diggs was actually funny when he got drunk in this film omar epps did good acting as he was telling his story going up as a teenager with his two best pals and his dream girl that he really like it goes like this he moves to a new town and goes to a new school while he find two dudes that quickly introduces themselves 2 him promise that they will look after him for a while since he is new in school during lunch break they encourage him 2 touch da girl that he likes butt he does it and she slaps him and tells him that his brother will finish him after school da girl’s brother beats da mess out of him and he day dreams while he gets da mess kick out of him then da girl that she likes gives him a chance 2 explain y he touch her butt after a while of explain she starts to like him and they eventually go out with eachother and she invites him into her house 2 make love which is something that neither of them have done before this movie was funny and good that was a warm up of best man because half of da actor/actress that was in this film was in the best man joe brown
